Pasar Jaya Terapkan Larangan Plastik Sekali Pakai Di Awal Juli

Perumda Pasar Jaya will Monitor Implementation of Pergub No. 142/2019

Perumda Pasar Jaya will monitor the implementation of Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) No. 142/2019 concerning Obligation to Use Eco-friendly Shopping Bag (KBRL) in markets and shopping centers under the management of Perumda Pasar Jaya.

If obligation to use eco-friendly shopping bags can be implemented well, then it will provide a significant result in reducing waste in Jakarta

Perumda Pasar Jaya President Director, Arief Nasrudin mentioned, his side had socialized this pergub for a long time thus merchants and customers could understand the regulation well until it is applied on July 1, 2020.

"According to plan, on July 1, regional leaders, both managers and market heads, will monitor activity in markets regarding the obligation to use eco-friendly shopping bags. Because we have socialized it for a long time," he said, Tuesday (6/30).

South Jakartans Encouraged to Support Eco-friendly Bags Usage

According to him, it was a real action from Perumda Pasar Jaya to reduce plastic waste since traditional markets had been one of the biggest waste producers in Jakarta.

"Every day, traditional market can produce 600 tons of waste. If obligation to use eco-friendly shopping bags can be implemented well, then it will provide a significant result in reducing waste in Jakarta," he explained.

Since this Pergub was discussed in 2018, his side had socialized about eco-friendly shopping bag usage in formal and non-formal way. Not only in form of activities, it was also conducted through mass media thus market customers and merchants could understand the regulations better.

"It is carried out to our customers and merchants continuously until now. Hopefully they are ready to implement this Pergub," he closed.
