January 1 - July 8, City's Tax Revenue Hit Rp 11.88 Trillion

Thus far the biggest contributor is tax vehicles

Along January 1 until July 8, the Jakarta Regional Earnings Board (Bapenda) managed to absorb Rp 11.88 trillion from 13 types of taxes. Its realization has reached 23.69 percent of the total target set at Rp 50.17 trillion.

Jakarta Bapenda's Revenue I Division Head Yuspin detailed tax vehicles (PKB) reached Rp 3.7 trillion; vehicle ownership documents (BPKB) Rp 2.02 trillion; building and land acquisition tax (BPHTB) Rp 1.35 trillion; Restaurant Tax Rp 1.14 trillion; as well as urban and rural land and building tax (PBB-P2) Rp 1.11 trillion.

Then, fuel tax (PBBKB) Rp 516,89 billion; Hotel Tax Rp 488.36 billion; Streetlight Tax (PPJ) Rp 401.85 billion; Billboard Tax Rp 386.81 billion; Cigarette Tax Rp 307.18 billion; Entertainment Tax Rp 204.38 billion; Parking Tax of Rp 192.36 billion; and Groundwater Tax Rp 39.32 billion.

"Thus far the biggest contributor is tax vehicles," he expressed, Thursday (7/9).

He went on to say that various optimization efforts in order to achieve the target included, the implementation of an online system of payment and tax reporting, opening outlets for payment of motor vehicle tax in shopping centers and service offices, as well as distribution of tax notification letter (SPPT) PBB-P2 to taxpayers and business entities.

"We continue to optimize revenues from 13 types, as they are also very important to handle the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Jakarta," he explained.

He urged taxpayers and business entities to pay local taxes before the specified maturity.

"Hopefully they obey taxes and fulfill their obligations before the due date specified," he said.
