Tourist sites on Tidung Island, South Thousand Islands, again closed to the public for the next 14 days as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Tidung Island Urban Village Head Hafsah expressed it was done, following the findings of five residents who were infected with COVID-19 after undergoing a swab test by the South Thousand Islands Sub-district Puskesmas health workers.

"That's why we close them (tourist sites) from today, every ship is prohibited from carrying passengers for the next 14 days," he stressed, Sunday (7/19).
He explained all ships coming from or toward Kaliadem Port, Marina Ancol, Mutiara Beach, Rawasaban, Tanjung Kait and Tanjung Pasir were temporarily prohibited from entering the Tidung Island Port.
"It must be obeyed and understood," he stated.
He added that the policy was taken according to the governor's direction and instructions via telephone regarding temporary closure of tourist attractions until it was completely safe from pandemics while preventing its spread.
"After the next 14 days, we will re-evaluate together with the task force and stakeholders," he stated.
