July 13-20, East Jakarta KPKP has Checked 10,719 Qurban Animals

East Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency has examined 10,719 sacrificial animals (qurban) from July 13 to July 20, 2020.

Qurban animal checking will be continued until Eid al-Adha

East Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Yuli Absari mentioned, during that period, 60 personnel have been deployed to visit 136 qurban animal shelters in 10 sub-districts in East Jakarta.

Total 10,719 qurban animals that have been examined consist of 5,150 cows, 203 buffaloes, 4,186 goats, and 1,180 sheep.

2,447 Qurban Animals Checked in South Jakarta

"From our monitoring, we found 1 deformed cow and 7 cows that are not old enough to slaughter thus we instruct sellers for not selling those cows for qurban," she stated, Tuesday (7/21).

According to her, at least there are three criterias that should be met to choose cattle for sacrificial animals. It must be healthy, not deformed, and old enough to be slaughtered, at least 1 year for goat and 2 years for cow.

"Qurban animal checking will be continued until Eid al-Adha," she informed.

On the D-day, her side will deploy 140 personnel to check animal slaughtering in 10 sub-district. This checking starts from animal's condition before slaughtering, during the slaughtering process, cutting process to packaging.

"Including to check qurban animal's innards," she closed.
