COVID-19, 61 Museums in Jakarta Began to Be Monitored

Some 80 state civil apparatuses (ASN) under Jakarta Culture Agency began monitoring the activities of the community during the transitional large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in 61 museums in Jakarta managed by the Jakarta Provincial Government, as well as ministries and private sector.

"Employees over 45 years, pregnant or breastfeeding women and those who have the disease are not involved as monitoring officers as they are vulnerable," said Jakarta Culture Agency Head, Iwan Henry, Wednesday (7/22).

He stated they were equipped with a list or form of a COVID-19 control strategy mechanism by the museum manager, which aimed to find out in detail what they had done for combating the virus.

Thus far, he assessed, the health protocol in the museum had been implemented well.

"Perhaps it is because the number of visitors is still small. And according to Gubernatorial Regulation number 51/2020, the number is limited by 50 percent of the normal capacity," he explained.

The following are a number of COVID-19 transmission prevention protocols that must be implemented by each museum:

- Provide information regarding COVID-19 prevention

- Control of museum employees and visitors

- Ensure employees are well educated and obliged to socialize COVID-19 prevention to visitors

- Provide hand-washing facilities or sink plus soap and hand sanitizer at certain points

- Routine disinfectant in collections and in places that are prone touched by visitors

- Restrictions on the number of museum visitors

- Check the body temperature of employees and visitors using an infrared thermometer

- Implement and supervise physical distancing protocols

- Make the right visitors in a bid to suppress the distance of visitors according to the minimum distance
