15,783 Qurban Animals in East Jakarta Have Been Examined

Some 60 inspectors of East Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency have examined 15,783 qurban animals in 217 animal shelters in 10 sub-districts from July 13 to 23.

Of 15,783 animals, 6,138 of them are cows, 203 are buffalos, 7,775 are goats and 1,667 are sheep

Irma Budiany, Division Head of Livestock and Animal Health stated that it was done every day, which aimed to ensure the availability of qurban animals was safe, healthy and halal to be consumed.

"Of 15,783 animals, 6,138 of them are cows, 203 are buffalos, 7,775 are goats and 1,667 are sheep," she expressed, Friday (7/24).

Yet her division also found around 10 were sick, one was flawed and 20 were not old enough.

Its examination was conducted on the teeth, nose, eyes, horns, testicles and so forth. In addition, those inspectors also checked the animal health certificate (SKKH) from the area of origin.

"It is done to make sure whether the shelter implements health protocols or not," she closed.
