KPKP Examines 45,361 Qurban Animals in Jakarta

From July 6 to July 24, Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency has examined 45,361 sacrificial animals (qurban).

Hundreds personnel will be on standby to check qurban animal slaughtering in Jakarta

Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Darjamuni mentioned, qurban animal examination was carried out in 649 animal shelters locations in Jakarta with total 705 traders.

"We have examined 17,551 cows, 278 buffaloes, 23,641 goats, and 3,891 sheep," he said, Monday (5/27).

According to him, qurban animals examination is needed to ensure qurban animals in the shelters are healthy and meet the requirements to be sacrificed.

"That number of animals we examined is still temporary because we are still holding examination," he added.

Qurban animal health examination was performed clinically and laboratory for anthrax disease surveillance.

"We taken 797 blood samples or PUD and soil samples for testing. The result is 715 PUD samples are negative of anthrax," he conveyed.

For information, Jakarta KPKP Agency deployed 589 personnel to check qurban animals health and qurban meat with assistance from Indonesian Veterinary Association (PDHI) Jakarta as many as 76 personnel and 26 personnel from Agriculture Ministry.

"Hundreds personnel will be on standby to check qurban animal slaughtering in Jakarta, from Eid al-Adha until D+3," he stated.
