Ahead of Eid al-Adha, East Jakarta Mayor Distributes 101,000 Bamboo Baskets

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar symbolically handed over 101,000 bamboo baskets or locally known as bongsang to Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) at Cakung Sub-district Office, on Wednesday (7/22).
It is assistance from Jakarta Baznas Bazis that will be distributed to all DKM in 10 sub-districts in East Jakarta
According to him, this assistance was provided by Jakarta Baznas Bazis as container for sacrificial animal (qurban) meat that will be distributed to Jakartans at Eid al-Adha 1441 Hijri.
"It is assistance from Jakarta Baznas Bazis that will be distributed to all DKM in 10 sub-districts in East Jakarta. Bongsang is used as container for qurban meat that will be distributed to the residents," he explained.

Thus Jakarta Baznas Bazis initiated to use bongsang as the substitute for disposable plastic bags to distribute qurban meat to the residents.
"From total 101,000 bamboo baskets, each sub-district will get 10 thousand baskets. While the remaining 1,000 baskets will be distributed to Al Muhyi Mosque at East Jakarta Mayor Office," he added.
For providing bongsang, his side used Jakarta Baznas Bazis's religious assistance funds.
