North Jakarta Promotes Online Qurban Animals Slaughtering

North Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency continues to promote online qurban animals slaughtering towards 257 mosque caretakers in 31 urban villages, North Jakarta, on Monday (7/20).

"It is a routine agenda in accordance with COVID-19 health protocols. Speakers and participants are not in the same room. Presenters are in the mayor's office and eight participants are in each location of the urban village and mosque," expressed North Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Unang Rustanto.

402 Qurban Animals Checked in Central Jakarta

Generally, he stated, qurban animals slaughtering in the pandemic should be in accordance with aspects of Islamic Sharia law, public health, as well as animal welfare and health protocols.

According to the health protocol rules, its execution should pay attention to distance, wear masks, avoid crowds and wash hands frequently.

Besides socializing the procedures for organizing and implementing slaughter of sacrificial animals amid pandemic, they were also equipped with equipment such as knives, plastic sheeting, rubber gloves, masks, baskets, disinfectants, hand sanitizers, sprayers, face shields and cutting boards.

"Those equipments are given free of charge. It is the result of collaboration between the North Jakarta Mayor and PT Indonesia Power," he stated.
