Early Warning of Rain with Strong Wind to Occur in Jakarta in Two Days

Jakarta Government through Jakarta BPBD announced an early warning of rain that is potential to fall with lightning and strong wind in Jakarta around August 7-8, 2020.

We also remind the related OPD, sub-districts and urban villages in areas prone to flood and landslide

Jakarta BPBD Acting Head (Plt), Sabdo Kurnianto mentioned, this early warning comes from BMKG to warn Jakarta people thus they can be aware and prepared.

"We remind people to anticipate and prepare everything to protect themselves from the wind. We also remind the related OPD, sub-districts and urban villages in areas prone to flood and landslide to deploy PPSU and flood task force/Sub-district SDA Unit. You can call 112 if you need assistance," he explained as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, Thursday (8/6).

BPBD Uses Disaster Warning System to Socialize PSBB Regulations

According to him, this weather could happen due to the center of low pressure was observed in the South China Sea (1006 hPa) which formed a convergence area that extends across the South China Sea.

The convergence area is also extending from northern Banda Sea to the Ambon Island waters and from the northern Pacific Ocean of Papua to southern West Papua. This condition can increase the potential for the formation of rain clouds around the low pressure center areas and convergence areas.
