Commemorating Scouts' 59th Anniversary, Anies Expects Jakarta Scouts to Assist People in Facing the Pandemic

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan acted the ceremony inspector at 59th Anniversary of Jakarta Provincial Council (Kwartir) at Jakarta City Hall, Saturday (8/22) morning. This ceremony was held differently because of the limited participants due to health protocols for preventing transmission of COVID-19.

I believe Jakarta Scouts can be a pioneer

This year's theme for Indonesian Scout is 'The Role of Scout Movement in Assisting Disaster Management for COVID-19 and Defending Nation' which is very relevant to the current conditions. Moreover, he explained that Jakarta's condition in the midst of pandemic really needs the contribution from all parties, including the Scouts, to help residents to get through the pandemic.

"This theme is a reminder that Scout movement should continue to give contribution and support to encourage Jakarta people to pass this pandemic well. I believe Jakarta Scouts can be a pioneer, as well as the embodiment and practice of Tri Satya and Dasa Dharma Pramuka," he asserted as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

The forms of Jakarta Scouts' concern in facing the COVID-19 pandemic, as reported by the entire Jakarta Scouts District Councils, are participating in pioneering health protocols campaign, providing various assistance to the community for daily survival, and others.

In this chance, he wanted to appreciate the contribution of Jakarta Scouts in building characters for the younger generation. "I want to congratulate the extended family of Jakarta Provincial COuncil Scout Movement. God willing, the scouting education movement will develop and make the Scouts at the forefront of actors of change in character building for the younger generations," he conveyed.
