The message is to make our children happy
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan had a virtual interactive dialogue with Jakarta parents and children in the highlight of the National Children's Day celebrated on Thursday (7/23).
With the theme "Protected Children, Advanced Indonesia", he stressed National Children's Day as a warning and not a celebration so this moment should be understood with the message that every Indonesian child was a child who must be loved.
Ancol to Hold Virtual Holiday Commemorating National Children's Day"Based on the statistic results, there are quite a lot of children in Indonesia affected by COVID-19, especially in Jakarta, we have a large number. But don't look at them as statistics. They are our children. God gives them for us where our responsibility is to love, protect, raise, educate and then make them as independent individuals. Therefore, let's make this warning a real warning, a warning for us to do that," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Thursday (7/23).
He then told the Jakarta children to be happy and smiling children, as well as to play more and be brave in trying new things thus they could have the opportunity to develop useful social skills to meet challenges in the future.
"InsyaAllah, this National Children's Day reminds us all of the importance of the responsibility that is left to us and I hope to all of you, let's develop togetherness and support each other. For parents, this pandemic is not an easy job, educating at home is difficult. We both experienced the same thing. We also experience complexity as children who have to be at home all the time, they are tired of going beyond the boredom they ever imagined and I think this is experienced by all children," he furthered.
He hoped that every Indonesian child could be active in various activities and parents did not limit any expression of children's happiness through games, as well as this virtual dialogue could be a memorable experience for children and parents during the pandemic.
"The message is to make our children happy, children who smile, children who feel they are growing and for parents, give them a chance to grow. The principle is do not forget, this is what we must grow, such as religious values, cultural values. Then grow morals, character and it is through the process of habituation at home, at school and between them. InsyaAllah give them with abilities, competencies, skills, they will be children who will provide benefits in the future," he expressed.
This virtual interactive dialogue with parents and children of Jakarta is part of the highlight of the Jakarta National Children's Day Commemoration. It is aired via the Zoom app and also lives streaming on official YouTube, Facebook and Instagram accounts belong to the Jakarta Child Protection and Empowerment and Population Control (PPAPP) Agency.
