APJATEL Targets to Install JakWIFI in 52 Locations Until End of This Month

The Telecommunications Network Providers Association (APJATEL) targeted to install Internet Network for All (JakWIFI) in 52 access points in 5 municipalities of Jakarta by the end of September 2020.

APJATEL Chairperson, Muhammad Arif Angga mentioned, as an initial stage, JakWIFI network will be installed in 52 points.
"We are targeting to install it in 52 points until end of this September. Next, we hope we can do more than that," he conveyed on Monday (9/7).

"In total, JakWIFI have been actively installed in 8 locations," he said.
He mentioned that JakWIFI network which managed by APJATEL is ceneterd in densely populated settlements. Each JakWIFI point can be accesssed by up to 50 users, especially students who are undergoing distance learning (PJJ).
"We focus on areas where there is no free internet network," he added.
According to him, his side has coordinated with local RW administrators for each JakWIFI point. They will be given password to manage JakWIFI.
"We give the password to each RWs. Thus we don't shared it publicly thus it can be used on target," he mentioned.
He hopes this free internet service can facilitate residents, especially students so that they can follow PJJ optimially during the pandemic.
"It is a part of our collaboration with Jakarta Govenemnt. In this pandemic, we see that the telecommunication infrastructure becomes a primary need," he closed.
