Parks and Urban Forests Closed During PSBB in Jakarta

Jakarta Park and Urban Forest Agency closes all parks and urban forests, including Ragunan Zoo after Jakarta Government implemented Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB).

Because of the re-implementation of PSBB, we close again all parks and urban forests

Jakarta Park and Urban Forest Agency  Head, Suzi Marsitawati conveyed, this closure was to protect and increase awareness of visitors from the potential exposure to COVID-19. Moreover, public cemetery (TPU) is only opened for funeral procession.

"Because of the re-implementation of PSBB, we close again all parks and urban forests like the first PSBB until undetermined time limit," she stated, Tuesday (9/15).

During the closure, her side ensured to clean and do routine maintenance in parks, urban forests, and Ragunan Zoo. If COVID-19 pandemic situation has started to subside, parks and urban forest will be opened gradually according to health protocols and only few facilities that can be used.

"There must be phases 1, 2, 3, 4. Even now we reopen parks, but there are few activities that are not opened yet, such as children playground and outdoor fitness facility. Unless the visitors use their own tools, that's okay. We will arrange that later," she mentioned.
