North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency Sector 7 Unit carried out disinfectant spraying at RW 02, Harapan Island, North Thousand Islands.

Disinfection is needed to prevent COVID-19 transmission

Gulkarmat Sector 7 Leader, Buang Miharja mentioned, his side followed up local resident's request to disinfect the area because tourists started visiting the island last weekend.

"Disinfection is needed to prevent COVID-19 transmission," he stated, Tuesday (10/20).

According to him, as the residential island which engaged in tourism sector, his side ensured to disinfect public facilities and infrastructure in Harapan Island.

"We deploy 6 personnel with 2 sprayers to disinfect the area. For this activity, our personnel use 45 liters of disinfectant liquid," he informed.
