Ragunan Zoo Reopens as City Ushers in 'New Normal' Tomorrow

We will alert 50 officers to implement health protocols

October marks the restart of the large-scale social restriction (PSBB) transition period in Jakarta area, which means that the government will be slowly opening up the economy as we enter the new normal. This includes reopening zoos.

One of them is Ragunan Zoo in South Jakarta, which will be opened tomorrow, Tuesday (10/13).

Entering Transitional PSBB, Here are Transjakarta Adjustments Starting October 12

"We will alert 50 officers to implement health protocols," expressed Ragunan Zoo Promotion Executing Unit Head, Ketut Widarsana.

He expressed that those 50 personnel consisted of security officers, health protocol check section and ticket purchasing service section.

"The zoo will open at 7:30 AM to 2 PM," he explained.

According to the transitional PSBB rules, he stated, they could only receive 25 percent of the capacity or around 2,000 visitors and should hold a routine disinfectant spraying in the morning and afternoon.

"For children aged nine years, pregnant women and elders over 60 years and those with congenital diseases are not allowed to visit," he concluded.
