SDA Agency Plans to Build More Infiltration Wells with Modular Tank

Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency continues to anticipate and prevent inundation, especially in areas prone to inundation, by building more infiltration wells.

Because it is light weight, it doesn't require heavy equipment to install it and it doesn't need maintenance since it has strong structure

Jakarta SDA Agency Head, Juaini Yusuf stated, the advantages of infiltration wells with modular tank are fast installation, light weight, and strong structure.

"Because it is light weight, it doesn't require heavy equipment to install it and it doesn't need maintenance since it has strong structure," he explained, Wednesday (11/18).

Modular Tank Infiltration Wells Began to Be Built in Green Garden

Modular tank dimension is 4 meters long, 3 meters wide, 1.5 meters deep, and each infiltration well is filled with 54 modular tanks.

"Not all infiltration wells use modular tanks. We will look for possible locations, that usually in large area. We will keep searching for possible locations to install it," he added.

One of infiltration wells that use modular tanks is built on Jalan Kompleks Green Garden Block L, RT 12/4, Kedoya Utara Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk. It is built to anticipate inundation as temporary water storage.

Infiltration wells were built along 100 meters with water capacity of 300 cubic meters.

"This modular tank is new, not all use it. In five regions of Jakarta, we just install it in Green Garden. We are still processing it, hopefully infiltration wells with modular tank can be built massively in 2021," he conveyed.
