Three Islands Closed to Tourists on Year-end Holidays

This is our anticipatory effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19

The Jakarta Maritime Museum Management Unit will close Onrust Island, Cipir Island and Kelor Island from tourist visits. It is in effect on December 24-27 and December 31-January 3.

Jakarta Maritime Museum Management Unit Head Berkah Shadaya said, it is a follow-up to the Governor's Call number 17/2020 on Control of Community Activities in Prevention of COVID-19 during Christmas and New Year Holidays.

"This is our anticipatory effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19," he expressed, Wednesday (12/23).

According to him, the closure also took into account any weekend holidays or national holidays of historical tourism visits to the three islands.

"We'll use this closure to treat and disinfect all existing facilities and infrastructure at the site," he stated.
