Jakarta Provincial Government has made another brilliant achievement ahead of the final turn of the year. This time, they won the 2020 National Best Employment Development Index (IPK) Award from the Ministry of Manpower.
As quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release on Wednesday (12/23), it can be achieved as it has won awards in three categories at once, namely:

2. Best IPK on the main indicator of job opportunities
3. Best IPK on the Main indicators of Labor Social Security
"We're grateful, this year we are awarded as the province with the best national IPK. This award is the result of colossal work. Friends who work hundreds or even thousands of people are behind the scenes in making workers prosperous, doing equal distribution of job opportunities, providing protection to realize the welfare of workers and their families," expressed Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan when he received the award online, Tuesday (12/22).
The governor mentioned, Jakarta was committed to completing the mandate of independence, namely social justice for all Indonesians. It was reflected in policies that promote equality.
"We want the welfare to be felt by all, grow together, there is equality. That is quality growth and we always encourage collaboration in programs in Jakarta. Our role is to match the needs of job seekers with existing resources from the private sector thus there is good collaboration between the three parties; job seekers, companies, and the government," he explained.
The government had a worker card program, where workers could access affordable food needs, cheap food needs, and have the opportunity to use public transportation for free.
"Surely it will save and the rest can be saved. This is not only about the revenue aspect but the million subsidies in the aspect of expenditure from workers," he explained.
They also made Jakpreneur innovations which not only train entrepreneurs but also provide access to capital according to their capacity and business plan. That way, ultra-micro businesses could upgrade to micro-enterprises.
"InsyaAllah they can set up a big business," he expressed.
Amid the pandemic, they had launched a Large-Scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) program in the field of MSMEs, which brings together various parties to help donate voluntarily, whether teaching services, training, business necessities, capital for the community to open independent businesses.
"By so more people can independently own businesses, opening up jobs for a much wider community because in the end a strong, sustainable employment system is our agenda. Let us continue to collaborate with each other to create a more prosperous society, the feeling of justice that is present, it really becomes a reality," he told.
As for the information, the results achieved this year have increased, where last year they only ranked second in the Medium Manpower Affairs category.
The worker indicators that have increased in Jakarta occur in the following indicators:
1. Population and Worker
2. Job Opportunities
3. Training and Job Competence
4. Labor Productivity
5. Industrial Relations
6. Working Environment Conditions
7. Labor Social Security
Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah, uttered that one of the things that encouraged the increase in the IPK was the increased awareness of local governments about the importance of manpower planning and the development of community-based job training units. Institutional strengthening had also increased the indicators of Industrial Relations and Working Environment Conditions.
Then the employment social security program is still quite effective in improving the welfare of workers in companies so that workers and employers realize the importance of social security. Increasing some of these indicators will ultimately lead to increased productivity.
"Nationally, this year IPK has increased, the highest IPK is achieved with an index of 78.29. The second rank was achieved by East Kalimantan with an index of 77.21, while the third rank was achieved by Bali with an index of 75.38.
