Jalan Bintaro Raya Reinforced with Concrete

Jalan Bintaro Raya, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, is being reinforced with concrete by local Road Public Works Sub-Department. The work is conducted to minimize puddles which formed in basins that can be found along that road.

The road will be leveled so there would be no basin. Later, the puddle water would flow straight to the river

Head of Road Development Section for South Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department, Bambang Suyitno, disclosed that the basins are located between Kali Pesanggrahan Bridge and TPU Tanah Kusir Park. Each of those basins will be patched with concrete for as long as 75 meters.

“Indeed, puddles often happened on that road whenever the rain is heavy and long,” he told, Saturday (11/1).

Since puddles happened on both sides of Kali Pesanggrahan Bridge, Suyitno continued, the work of reinforcing the road with concrete cannot be long connected directly. In addition, the road’s height will be added to 60-80 centimeters.

“The road will be leveled so there would be no basin. Later, the puddle water would flow straight to the river,” he said.

According to Suyitno, this project will be done at night in order to avoid traffic congestion.

“It will be finished as soon as possible. Hopefully there would be no rain, so the project could finish in 7-12 days,” he stated.
