Ciliwung-KBT Waterway Project Still Constrained by Land Acquisition

The contruction of a waterway from Ciliwung-East Flood Canal (KBT) is doomed to delay. This is because, the project is constrained by unfinished land acquisition.

Citizens are still rejecting the acquisition plan, they even sent a rejection letter to Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama

Head of East Jakarta Land Procurement Committee (P2T), Arifin explained citizens living in RW 04, Bidaracina Urban Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, rejected such acquisition plan. It has an impact on the waterway's inlet, where it cannot be done yet. But for its outlet construction, is currently still under drilling process.

"Citizens are still rejecting the acquisition plan, they even sent a rejection letter to Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama. The outlet part has entered drilling process, even though the land is still in dispute. Currently we're still waiting for the announcement of the map from the National Land Agency (BPN), which will be announced next week," he said, Tuesday (11/4).

He disclosed that in the outlet part, the land as wide as 2,200 square meters divided into five plots is still in dispute and signed by the East Jakarta District Court. Those involved in the dispute is Subur Brothers family with Atjang Ibrahim.

"Although the land is still in dispute, both parties agree if the land is used as an outlet channel site. Regarding compensation payment, will be done while waiting for dispute case is finished," he explained.
