“If they wanted to continue this project, there must be recommendation first from Jakarta Governor. What the study would be like? Everything must be discussed first,” he stated, Tuesday (9/2).

According to Andriyansyah, his party has asked the project operator to come to East Jakarta Mayor office to explain about the project. But, they never show up until now.

“If (the project) in accordance to the procedures, why would they afraid (to come)?” he expressed.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta Mayor, HR Krisdianto, explained that coordination between regions in working on a cross-region project is very vital.

“It’s not just about the permit, but there should be coordination. Or else, who would be responsible?” he said.

Based on the information gathered, this project is Public Works Ministry’s project. The waterway itself is to minimize flooding in Bintara, stretches from Bintara, Bekasi, West Java, until KBT, East Jakarta. On the other hand, KBT is the authority of Jakarta Provincial Government.
