Bintara Waterway-KBT Project Stopped Forcibly

Although has not got permit from East Jakarta Administration, the field operator of Bintara waterway-East Flood Canal (KBT) project still recklessly operates heavy vehicle to work on the project.
If they wanted to continue this project, there must be recommendation first from Jakarta Governor
Seeing that, East Jakarta Administration Assistant for Development and Environment, Andriyansyah, who came to the project, immediately stopped the vehicle, pulled out the ignition key, and seized the operator’s ID Card (KTP).
“If they wanted to continue this project, there must be recommendation first from Jakarta Governor. What the study would be like? Everything must be discussed first,” he stated, Tuesday (9/2).

“If (the project) in accordance to the procedures, why would they afraid (to come)?” he expressed.
Meanwhile, East Jakarta Mayor, HR Krisdianto, explained that coordination between regions in working on a cross-region project is very vital.
“It’s not just about the permit, but there should be coordination. Or else, who would be responsible?” he said.
Based on the information gathered, this project is Public Works Ministry’s project. The waterway itself is to minimize flooding in Bintara, stretches from Bintara, Bekasi, West Java, until KBT, East Jakarta. On the other hand, KBT is the authority of Jakarta Provincial Government.
