Jika Diteruskan Proyek Sodetan Bintara- KBT Akan Diperkarakan

Waterway of Bintara-KBT Precedes BBWSCC's Authority

The construction project of Bintara-East Flood Canal (KBT) Waterway is beginning to unfold. Lately, the project that stretches from Bekasi-East Jakarta is managed by Bekasi Administration, whereas it is the domain of the Ciliwung-Cisadane Flood Control Office (BBWSCC).

We'll explore its clarity, considering waterway towards KBT is supposedly under the BBWSCC

Head of Channel Maintenance Section for Bekasi City Bina Marga (Highways) Department, Budi Santoso said such project is a project of Building and Environmental Planning (PBL) Directorate General of Human Settlements, Ministry of Public Works, which is sourced from the State Budget (APBN) to reduce floods in Bintara area, Bekasi, West Java.

"This is our project, because we had a permit from the BBWSCC and East Flood Canal Technical Management (UPT BKT). I think this is enough, but there must also be another permit from Jakarta Governor first," he expressed, Thursday (9/4).

Until Now, No Solution on Project of Bintara-KBT Waterway

Public Relation of BBWSCC, Putu Wirawan claimed that the project is his domain, as well as did not know and never issued any recommendation related with waterway project.

"If there was a recommendation, it would be issued gradually through socialization and coordination with city government. In addition, there should be studies, such as water debit setting and so on," he explained.

Responding on the findings, Wirawan furthered, his side will conduct a discussion with the relevant technical institutions. "We'll explore its clarity, considering waterway towards KBT is supposedly under the BBWSCC," he expressed.

Meanwhile, Assistant of East Jakarta Development and Environment, Andriyansah deplores Bekasi Administration's act which did not prioritize coordination with the East Jakarta Administration.

"It's okay, as long as the project can be stopped. Hence, we will send a letter to all involved in the project," he told.
