Ketua DPRD: Ahok Otomatis Jadi Gubernur

DPRD Supports Basuki to Acquire PT Palyja

Jakarta Provincial Government’s step in acquiring PT Palyja’s shares through two city-owned enterprises (BUMD), namely PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) and PT Pembangunan Jaya, gets support from the City Council (DPRD).

Take over, whatever the way

“Take over, whatever the way. This foreign (company) has been enjoying profit arbitrarily and the service is also bad. We cannot lose and being colonized by the foreign,” asserted DPRD Chairman, Prasetyo Edy Marsudi, Tuesday (11/4).

Marsudi hopes the executive party could act fast in taking over the water management in Jakarta from PT Palyja. This is because as long as the contract is still running, the city would continue to suffer loss because of that foreign company.

Palyja Takes Lot of Our Money, Ahok Says

On the other side, the workers in that company continue to gain the income and profit in a huge amount. Because of that, DPRD urges Jakarta Legal Bureau to act fast in anticipating loss that could reach trillions of rupiah.

“The country’s loss potential reaches trillions of rupiah. Don’t take it trivial. Whatever the way, the shares must be taken over before the contract ends,” he stated.

Indeed, the service given by PT Palyja for West Jakarta area is often complained by the citizens. For example, the water is dirty and smelly, that proves the company’s bad service quality.

“The government must not provide bad water to its people. This is Jakarta, the capital city. Primary needs like clean water must be paid into attention well,” stressed Marsudi.

This issue started when Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama conveyed that wants to immediately acquire PT Palyja’s shares.

“They (PT Palyja) have taken Jakarta Provincial Government’s money a lot. That’s why we want to buy (the shares). We are still waiting for the completion of Legal Aid (LBH)’s lawsuit,” uttered Basuki.
