Joint Personnel Demolished 160 Illegal Buildings in Pulogadung

Because of built on illegal location, total of 160 illegal building at Sunter River bank on Jalan Irigasi, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Wednesday (11/5), controlled by the joint personnel. Hundred of buildings are generally in permanent form spread on RT 06 and RT 07 RW 09.

All building on the riverbank will be curbed to make the flood management easier

Before the demolition, 215 families who stayed in the 160 illegal building have been warned orally or written from Pulogadung Sub District. The occupants are certainly will not get the compensation money or relocated to low flat. Because majority are newcomer citizens and have no Jakarta ID card.

Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, Kukuh Hadi Santosa, said the maintenance of Sunter River always constrained by the illegal buildings.

"All building on the riverbank will be demolished to make the flood management easier," said Santosa.

Kasno (27), one of RT 06/07 Pulogadung citizens, admitted has been living there for 20 years. He and the another building owner wish the Provincial Government gives the compensation money to rent a house.

"We have no idea where to got. There is no relocation such other location to flat," he said.
