491 Trees in Central Jakarta have Been Pruned

The Central Jakarta Park and Urban Forest Sub-agency has noted that as many as 491 trees spread over eight sub-districts have been pruned during January until the second week of February 2021.

Central Jakarta Park and Urban Forest Sub-agency Head Mila Ananda expresses those tress were pruned in order to prevent falling trees in the rainy season.

Of 491 trees, 323 were pruned at heavy level, 76 were pruned at light level and 84 were cut down.

Rainy Season, Tree Pruning in Senen Being Intensified

"These trees are pruned, as they are prone to fall," he stated, Monday (2/15).

Last year, he managed to prune 7,238 trees consisted of 2,493 trees (light pruning), 3,835 trees (medium pruning)  846 trees (heavy pruning) and 63 other trees were cut down.

"We also make the option of relocating rather than cutting down trees," he said.
