In Central Jakarta, 7,238 Trees Pruned in January-December 2020

Central Jakarta Park and Urban Forest Sub-agency pruned 7,238 trees in January-December 2020 period.

Personnel also prune trees that are blocking the traffic signs

Central Jakarta Park and Urban Forest Sub-agency Head, Mila Andini conveyed, in detail, as many as 2,493 trees were lightly pruned, 3,835 trees were pruned moderately, and 63 trees were cut down.

"Some trees were cut down because it was already porous and could endanger residents," she said, Friday (1/8).

Pruning was carried out based on personnel monitoring on the field and following up residents' complaints.

According to her, pruning was important to reduce the burden on trunk, rejuvenate new shots, remove parasites, and beautify the trees.

"Personnel also prune trees that are blocking the traffic signs," she added.

Besides pruning trees, her side also routinely maintained parks in residential areas, green lanes, and public cemeteries (TPUs).

"We deploy 980 Central Jakarta Park and Urban Forest Sub-agency PJLP personnel to do the routine maintenance," she explained.
