KI Encourages PPID to Create Information Service Innovation and Creativity

The Jakarta Information Commission (KI), held a webinar with all regional working units (SKPD) under Jakarta Provincial Government. It is the initiation of a joint activity involving the Jakarta Public Agency to increase innovation in the management of public information.

The webinar took the theme "Increasing Jakarta Province Public Information Openness Management Innovation" was attended by Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan; Jakarta KI Chairman, Harry Ara Hutabarat; and Central KI Chairman, Gede Narayana.
KI Chairman said transparency is one of the pillars in the struggle for democratization in the country and as a mandate in Article 28 F of the 1945 Constitution which guarantees the rights of all citizens to communicate and get information. Therefore information is the main thing as a way of fulfilling community rights.

According to him, it took a direct role from the Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID) to create a transparent, accountable and trustworthy public information service provider. PPID was the main key for information service providers and presenting data and documentation of information certainly required increased capacity and understanding in managing data and information. State administration would run perfectly if it involved the community in overseeing public policy.
"KI also encourages them (PPID) to create innovation, creativity, and strategies in providing information services," he said.
The Governor added that the city was tasked with bringing aspirations and bringing policies for information disclosure to the public.
"The aim is we can be accountable for the mandate entrusted, either in the form of authority (authority) or in the form of resources," he explained.
He furthered, in executing their obligations, public agencies including the city was required to be always and ready to present information beyond simply canceling obligations. Public trust also contributes
to development and also supervision of public policies. This community involvement was the continuous point of this webinar activity. Hopefully the webinar could increase understanding and innovation for public agencies in Jakarta.At the same time, Central KI Chairman Gede Narayana said, there should be a synergy between institutions in realizing good state governance, especially in Jakarta.
"Not just one element, but all stakeholders in city government," he expressed.
As for information, the webinar was attended by 310 PPID participants from Jakarta, consisting of agencies, bureaus, mayors, regents, Satpol PP, sub-districts, sub-districts, RSUD, DPRD Secretariat, and inspectorates.
