The East Jakarta Administration is going to make Jalan Sumarno, Penggilingan, Cakung, East Jakarta, as East Jakarta Icon which is known as shade and distinctive region. disclosed that tamarind tree was chosen in order to make a shady atmosphere on
Jalan Sumarno. It is hoped, the region could be a pilot in East Jakarta.
"This year, we plan 67 trees on median roads. Then next
year, the remaining trees would be planted on both sides of the road. Its
growing is quick or can reach 10 meters high about 2 years and 15-20 meters high
in 5 years," she expressed, Friday (11/7).
She mentions tamarind tree will not be prone to collapse.
Because its type is strong and will be planted at a depth of 1 meter. Tree
planting is planned to be interspersed with other tree types. The comparison,
every 3 banyan trees, inserted 1 tamarind tree.
On Jalan Sumarno, she furthered, there are currently about
50 ashoka trees or locally called as glodokan tiang and 30 banyan trees. They
planned to be moved to Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai. For street vendors until illegal
parking will be coordinated with related unit and be done integrally.
Additionally, her side will also build a bike track.
East Jakarta Administration Secretary, Arifin added that the
road must become East Jakarta's icon and has a characteristic. However, Marzitawati
admitted she is concerned about the condition of park and the green belt at the
site that was occupied by street vendors, illegal parking, motorcycle workshop,
etc.
"Jalan Sumarno should become a pilot for other
cities," she revealed.
