The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Agency conducts a trial of Tourist information Center Mobile (TICM) services in Cipinang Indah East Flood Canal (KBT) area and on Jalan Lingkar Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, which has been ongoing since March 15 to March 21.

Jakarta Parekraf Agency's Data and Information Division Head, Jonie P Rumimper disclosed that people can visit TICM to get information about tourism in Jakarta such as shopping, culinary, recreation, and cultural heritage tourism.

It also provided books containing information on various culinary tours and cultural heritage in Jakarta. There were also pocket maps, maps along with travel routes or access to public transportation to get to tourist locations in Jakarta.

"We start to operate at 10 AM to 4 PM," he expressed, Wednesday (3/16).

He explained most of people came to find information regarding tourist destinations that were open to the public during the micro-scale public activity restrictions (PPKM Mikro) and its operational schedule.

"Some also asked about new tourist destinations in Jakarta, then the conditions for visiting tourist sites. They are also free to read and take home the brochures or information books here," he explained.

By so, tourism in Jakarta is easier to find and can also serve directly if there a re people who needed tourist information, ranging from shopping, culinary, recreation and others.

"The trial is aimed to see the community's response in the hope that it can play an active role in visiting the community to provide tourism information," he stated.

As for the information, TICM is a jemput bola (pick-up service) for tourism information providers in Jakartans. This unit is completed with officers who will serve residents explaining about tourist destinations in Jakarta.
