It looks more organized and far from being a slum
The makeover project of four integrated stations namely Tanah Abang, Senen, Sudirman and Juanda Stations is not only welcomed by Jakarta residents, but also from other regions, especially commuters.
It is deemed to provide new experience and integration between modes of transportation, as well as make it easier for passengers to access the switch mode to the final destination of the trip.
Trial Arrangement of Tanah Abang Station BeginsOne of commuters from Depok, Tasya (24) who works daily in the HI Roundabout welcomes the makeover project of the Sudirman Station.
Besides supporting integration between modes of structuring integrated stations, it is also supported by pedestrian, Transjakarta bus stops, public transport lanes, online motorcycle taxi shelters, parks and well-established places to sell.
"This is comfortable and we are made easy to find public transportation options near the station, such as MRT or Transjakarta," she expressed, Monday (6/22).
It is expected that passengers could be served well and more residents switch to public transportation as they already feel safe and comfortable in transportation.
"It looks more organized and far from being a slum. So everything can be easier for train users to choose the next public transportation," she explained.
Similar statement also comes from another commuter, Jonathan (27). He admitted, he was surprised with the new look of Tanah Abang Station after more than two months he worked at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic and PSBB in Jakarta.
"This answers the needs of Jakarta commuters and residents in terms of transportation. Options and access to public transportation have been met, we have KRL, online motorcycle taxi, mirkolet and Transjakarta. All arranged well so more organized and orderly," he told.
He also appreciated the construction of other new supporting facilities at Tanah Abang Station. Especially with the wayfinding or directions that provide experiences like in big cities abroad and make it easier for residents to independently choose transportation to the final destination.
"Many transportation options at the station, we have easy access with this direction. Principally, as the use of public transportation, this project makes it safer and more comfortable. This is enough, just how do people live orderly or not," he told.
Previously, Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Syafrin Liputo expressed that the point of this project was to realize full integration for the movement of people and vehicles, either to the station or from the station to other transportation.
"Hopefully it can parse traffic jam on artery and local roads at the station, because of the good intermodal integration," he explained.
By so, passengers who will go to further transportation are made as comfortable as possible by paying attention to safety, security and comfort, in accordance with the principles of transportation.
"This is what we want to realize, no longer using the road, so it does not seem slum," he said.
