Connecting Channel on Jalan Kelapa Nias Dredged from Mud

The Kelapa Gading Sub-district (SDA) Executing Unit has transported mud from the Kelapa Nias Connecting Channel, Jalan Raya Kelapa Nias, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

It is targeted to be complete today

Kelapa Gading Sub-district's SDA Executing Unit Head, Citrin Indrianti said it had been carried out since January 18. Until now the personnel had managed to pick up 2.772 cubic meters.

"It is targeted to be complete today. It is done to accommodate water in large quantities in order to anticipate flooding when it rains," she stated, Wednesday (3/31).

She explained the overall channel had 1,000 meters long with 5 meters width and 1 meter depth.

"We have deployed one heavy equipment type Whell XL 11, three trucks in the size of five cubic meters and two trucks in the size of eight cubic meters. Three personnel have been alerted at the location," she said.

She added the obstacles faced during the work were the many trees on the right and left of the channel, electricity cables and other utilities that were too low.

"We tied the cables not to interfere with the movement of the heavy equipment. As for the trees, the distance is too close, so we dredge the mud from the other side of the channel," she stated.
