Five Markets in East Jakarta are Free of Hazardous Substances

Sidak will be intensified during Ramadan until Eid ul Fitr

The East Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency has stated five traditional markets are free of hazardous chemical substances when conducting a sudden inspection (sidak).

East Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head Yuli Absari said 243 samples of agricultural, livestock and fishery products examined were negative for rodhamin, borax, formaldehyde and other harmful chemicals.

"Of 243 samples, 112 are agricultural products, 36 are livestock products and 95 are fishery product," she said.

She explained the inspection involved joint personnel of Satpol PP, army and police, as well as related units. Those five markets were Jatinegara, Ampera, Rawamangun, Jambul and Palmeriam.

The agricultural products examined, she detailed, were vegetables and fruits. Then the livestock products were chicken and beef and fishery products were in the form of fresh fish, salted fish and processed products made from fish as raw material.

"Sidak will be intensified during Ramadan until Eid ul Fitr," she asserted.
