Two Heavy Equipment Deployed to Dredge Mud in Ria Rio Reservoir

East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency deployed two heavy equipment with type Dredger Water Master WM04 and iMS7012 to dredge mud in Ria Rio Reservoir, Pulogadung.

We continue to dredge mud from this reservoir thus it can hold more water discharge

East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Maintenance Section Head, Puryanto mentioned, mud dredging work at Ria Rio Reservoir has been completed since the end of December 2020. However, due to several channels around the reservoir are still carrying mud to this reservoir, mud dredging is still carried out until today.

"Mud dredging work at Ria Rio Reservoir is still continuing using two heavy dredgers. Because there are several connecting channels that still carry the mud sedimentation to the reservoir, thus we need to dredge the silt every day," he explained, Wednesday (4/21).

Central Jakarta SDA Intensifies Mud Dredging in 6 Locations

According to him, his side will continue use Dredger to dredge the mud as long as there is silting on the reservoir. So far, the dredged mud was piled up beside the reservoir to be used as embankment.

Not only Dredger Water Master WM04 and iMS7012, his side also used Sumitomo AB29 (storing), Sumitomo AB47, CAT XS16 and Pindad XS29 for this dredging.

"We continue to dredge mud from this reservoir thus it can hold more water discharge. This way, inundation can be prevented from occurring in Pulomas, Kayu Putih, and surrounding areas," he said.
