North Jakarta Has 18 Disaster Preparedness Villages

The North Jakarta Social Sub-agency has set up 18 villages prepared for disaster (KSB) spread over several urban villages in an effort to deal with disasters in the region.

KSB is actually formed in urban villages that are prone to flood or fire

Social Protection and Poor Management Division Head, Nurlela disclosed, in each village, residents got education, as well as facilities and infrastructure to be more responsive in facing any disaster.

"There are 25 personnel, consisting of RT/RW, LKMD (Village Social Activities Group), Karang Taruna Group, and FKDM (Early Awareness Society Forum). KSB is actually formed in urban villages that are prone to flood or fire," she expressed, Tuesday (4/27).

Here are 18 villages that spread over North Jakarta:

1. Cilincing Sub-district

- Rorotan, Sempert Timur

- Sukapura

2. Kelapa Gading Sub-district

- Pegangsaan Dua

3. Koja Sub-district

- Tugu Selatan

4. Tanjung Priok Sub-district

- Tanjung Priok

- Warakas

- Sungai Bambu

5. Pademangan Sub-district

- Pademangan Barat

- Pademangan Timur

- Ancol

6. Penjaringan Sub-district

- Penjaringan

- Pluit

- Pejagalan

- Kapuk Muara

- Kamal Muara

"They are formed to overcome disaster issues in the region," she said.

In disaster preparedness efforts, she also prepared 250 officers of emergency response unit (Tagana) and 12 officers of Social Disaster Preparedness (PSKB) on duty for 24 hours when disaster occurred.

She added that every officer who was present at the disaster site was ensured to bring a number of facilities and infrastructure such as tents, medicine, and logistics to meet food needs through a public kitchen that was set up in that location. They also provided assistance in the form of rubber boats, round buoys, oars, vests, hats, manuals, masks, and portable fire extinguishers (APAR) if the disaster occurred.

"By so, it is hoped that residents will be more alert and responsive when disaster occurs," she hoped.
