Central Jakarta Mayor monitored public cemeteries (TPUs) temporary closure for grave pilgrim activity at Karet Bivak Public Cemetery, Tanah Abang, Thursday (5/13).

Central Jakarta Mayor, Dhany Sukma stated, situation at TPU Karet Bivak on Eid is under control. No one visit TPU for grave pilgrimage on this year's Eid.
"Thank God, it is according to plan that TPUs are closed since May 12. Until now, the situation is under control according to governor's regulation," he conveyed.
He explained that TPU closure was excluded for residents who died and buried in the cemetery during the period.
"It means, only grave pilgrimage activity is prohibited. While we still serve for funeral," he mentioned.
Hundreds joint personnel from Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Police, TNI, and City Park and Forestry Sub-agency were deployed to secure three of four TPUs in the region.
"It is closed to reduce number of COVID-19 cases. No one is allowed to do it (grave pilgrimage). We will strictly enforce COVID-19 health protocols to prevent increase in COVID-19 cases. It applies to all," he asserted.
