Latest Information on COVID-19 Cases and Vaccination in Jakarta as of June 12, 2021

Jakarta Government continues to control COVID-19 pandemic. Not only implementing 3T, COVID-19 vaccination is also being promoted to priority groups. However, community participation is still needed to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols.

In the past week, 71,616 people were tested using PCR

Given that COVID-19 vaccination can only reduce the impact of exposure, there is still a possibility of COVID-19 transmission if people don't follow health protocols. It can be seen from positive cases that are still fluctuating and now tend to increase. It needs cooperation from all sides to break the transmission chain.

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia stated, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, PCR test has been carried out to 17,925 specimens. From that amount, 13,443 specimens have been tested today to diagnose new cases with total of 2,455 positive results and 10,988 negative results. Besides, Antigen test was also conducted to 5,489 people with 310 positive results and 5,179 negative results.

"WHO test target is 1,000 people tested using PCR per one million population per week (not specimens), meaning that WHO target for Jakarta is at least 10,645 people should be tested per week. This target has been exceeded by Jakarta for some time. In the past week, 71,616 people were tested using PCR. While the number of people tested for PCR in Jakarta has now reached 385,590 per million population," she explained as quoted in Jakarta PPID Press Release.

Number of positive cases increased by 1,716 cases thus in total it reached 15,624 active cases as of today (including people who are still being treated/isolated). Moreover, for total confirmed cases in Jakarta as of today reached 445,302 cases. It should be noted that positive antigen test results in Jakarta were not included in total positive cases because all were reconfirmed by PCR.

From total positive cases, 422,121 people recovered with recovery rate of 94.8% and 7,557 people died with mortality rate of 1.7%. While mortality rate in Indonesia reached 2.8%

For positivity rate or positive cases percentage in the past week in Jakarta reached 15.6%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 10.8%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, vaccination process is still ongoing. Vaccination target for stage 1 and 2 (for health workers, elderly and public servants) is 3,000,689 people. Currently, first dose vaccination has been given to 2,872,171 people (95.7%) and second dose vaccination to 1,861,571 people (62.0%). While through Gotong Royong Vaccination, as many as 37,376 people in Jakarta have received vaccines.

In detail, for health workers, first dose vaccination has been given to 135,728  people (120.9%) and second dose to 120,932 people (107.7%) with total vaccination target 112,301 people.

For elderly group, first dose vaccination has been given to 595,046 people (65.3%) and second dose to 535,273 people (58.7%) with total vaccination target 911,631 people. In public service group, first dose vaccination has been given to 2,141,397  people (108.3%) and second dose to 1,205,366 people (61.0%) with total vaccination target 1,976,757 people.

Jakarta Satpol PP also gives sanction for anyone who don't wear mask and violate health protocols, and intensifies guest book data collection, as well as other forms of PSBB violations, such as in restaurants, business places, and industrial places. The imposed sanctions are in form of social work, fines, temporary suspension of activity, and revocation of business license.

Based on daily report submitted by Jakarta Satpol PP on June 11, 2021, at 18:00, Satpol PP had collected fine Rp 7.150,000. With hope all residents can be more disciplined and participated in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

By using JakCLM, people can get information about COVID-19 risks and various recommendations according to the risks they have. People's contribution in filling JakCLM can help Jakarta Government in preventing COVID-19 spread in Jakarta.

Jakarta Provincial Government is still opening opportunity for residents who want to provide assistance to the others who affected by COVID-19 through Large-scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) Program.
