Jakarta Extends PPKM Mikro Again, Some Activities Restricted

The drastic surge in Covid-19 cases in Jakarta has forced the Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to further tighten the micro-scale public activity restrictions (PPKM Mikro) rules. It is stated in the Governor Decree number 796/2021 on PPKM Mikro Extension for 14 days from June 22 to July 5.

We made it as cases continued to explode significantly in Jakarta

The Governor revealed that this policy was to follow up on the Home Minister's Instruction number 14/2021 on PPKM Mikro Extension and Covid-19 Handling Command Post Optimization at the Village and Sub-district Levels to Curb the Spread of Covid-19, as well as directions at a Limited Meeting with the Covid-19 Handling Committee and the National Economic Recovery Committee (KPCPEN), which was held on June 21.

"We made it as cases continued to explode significantly in Jakarta. That's why there are some adjustments related to operating hours, capacity, and other regulations in 11 sectors of citizen activity," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.
