7,712 Dasawisma Cadres in Central Jakarta Help Accelerate Vaccination Program

Central Jakarta Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) Sub-agency deployed 7,712 dasawisma cadres in 44 urban villages to accelerate vaccination program.

Dasawisma cadres have approached and encouraged them to be vaccinated

Central Jakarta PPAPP Sub-agency Community Empowerment Section Head, Bangun Manalu stated, thousands dasawisma cadres have duties to collect data and educate residents in their regions who haven't been vaccinated.

"Dasawisma cadres are tasked with registering residents in 10-20 houses around where they live. They also educate residents who don't want to be vaccinated by providing information obtained from COVID-19 Task Force," he explained.

According to him, socialization which carried out by dasawisma cadres was very effective. Residents who initially refused were generally willing to be vaccinated after being socialized about benefits of participating in vaccination.

"There are various reasons why people haven't been vaccinated yet, such as poor health condition, high sugar levels, heart problems, and so on. We are grateful that dasawisma cadres have approached and encouraged them to be vaccinated," he mentioned.

Central Jakarta PPAPP Sub-agency also converted 50 RPTRAs in 44 urban villages into vaccination service centers.

"50 RPTRAs in Central Jakarta have been used as vaccination centers," he said.
