Jakartan PON XX swimmers won three gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals in the final of the third day of swimming, which was held at the Kampung Harapan Aquatic Pool, Jayapura, on Monday (10/11) night. It was proven by Joe Aditya, who won the gold medal, admitting that he has been practicing swimming since he was five years old.
"I've been practicing since I was little and until now, sir," he expressed while answering the Governor's question.
This result made Jakarta still in the top three most medal winners at the PON XX in Papua this time. Five days before the closing, he instructed the athletes who would still be competing to work harder.
"So, let's do the best," he said.
He went on to say that the match was not only measured by medal achievements, but the most important thing was sportsmanship during the match. "Let's uphold fair play. Do your best for the betterment of the nation," he hoped.
As for the information, the gold was achieved by Joe Aditya in the men's 200 m freestyle with a time of 1.51.39, followed by I Gede Siman Sudartawa in the men's 100 m backstroke class with a time of 56.18 seconds, and Gagarin Nataniel Yus in the men's 100 m breaststroke with the best result at 1.02.49. Then Angel Gabriella Yus won silver medals in the women's 200 m freestyle and two bronze medals were presented by Anak Agung Istri Kania Ratih in the women's 100 m backstroke and Dwiki Anugrah in the men's 100 m backstroke.
