The South Jakarta Environment (LH) Sub-agency has noted that the use of plastic shopping bags every day is reduced by around 148 tons. If it is calculated per month, it reaches around 4,467 tons.

South Jakarta LH Sub-agency Head, M Amin said, it is based on data collection on the use of eco-friendly shopping bags at supermarkets and minimarkets that has been conducted every day since early 2021.

In South Jakarta, he explained, there were 52 supe rmarkets and 562 minimarkets that had implemented Gubernatorial Regulation number 142/2019 on the obligation to use eco-friendly shopping bags in shopping centers and plastic-free market programs.

Aside that, his party continues to intensively promote the use of eco-friendly shopping bags in traditional markets.
