Hundreds of taxi and bajaj drivers who usually hung in the Gambir Train Station, Central Jakarta, Friday (11/28), staged demonstration in front of the station. As a result, the station's entrance had faltered.
Those drivers deliberately park their vehicles haphazardly to close the train's entrance on the East side of Medan Merdeka. They protested parking management plan to raise parking tariff from Rp 120 thousand-Rp 350 thousand per month per December 1, 2014.
Labors Demonstration, Traffic in Front of City Hall Bogged Down"This problem should be discussed first. Don't raise tariff unilaterally. We are also the working partner," said a demonstration coordinator, Haryanto, Friday (11/28).
Haryanto and his colleagues deplored the parking manager seems reluctant to engage in dialogue before rising the tariff. Moreover, its tariff is not proportional to the improvement of facilities in the station.
"We've repeatedly complained about improvement due to uncomfortable facility and arrangement that cause passengers prefer to ride public transport outside the station," he lamented.
PT RMU's GM Security and Orderly as Management of Gambir Train Station admitted would report a complaint to the boss.
"We will report the complaints to our boss for further follow-up," he promised.
