Batavia Arts Festival Went Lively

Jakarta History Museum once again held the Batavia Arts Festival at Fatahillah Park, Saturday (11/29). The annual year event was enlivened by two guest stars, Inneke Koesherawati and Ramzi.

With visitors’ high interest, we hope this event could be held twice next year, as happened in 2011 and 2012

Besides enjoying the beauty of Kota Tua, visitors can also see a variety of stands that displayed cultures from various regions all over Indonesia. Even so, Betawi nuance still dominates the event.

Head of Jakarta History Museum, Enny Prihantini, stated that this festival aims to stimulate public’s attention to Jakarta History Museum. Through the event, it is expected that people would appreciate arts more.

“With visitors’ high interest, we hope this event could be held twice next year, as happened in 2011 and 2012,” she expressed.

In addition, Prihantini disclosed that the Batavia Arts Festival was supposed to be held in last June, coincides with Jakarta’s anniversary. But due to its auction process in Goods and Services Procurement Unit (ULP) was constrained, her party decided to hold it this month.

Meanwhile, Caca (16), one of the visitors, admitted happy to visit the event. Moreover, it presented various cultural knowledge that strengthen her love to the national cultures.

“However, I see there is lack of seriousness in developing this area into a more attractive tourist site,” she said.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, the event went lively and crowded by domestic as well as foreign tourists. Unfortunately, the visitors were still throwing trashes haphazardly although the event management had put trash cans around the location.
