Jakarta Government Wins Three Awards in GSMS 2021

Jakarta Government won awards in social media management at Government Social Media Summit (GSMS) 2021 event held by Awrago, the Government's social media analytics agency which supported by Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) and NoLimit Indonesia.

Jakarta Government received three awards, namely Best Use of Image, Best Use of Video, and Best Account for Provincial Government categories. The event was held online on Friday (11/26) night.
Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency's Public Communication Division Head, Nuruning Septarida mentioned, COVID-19 pandemic was a challenge itself in conveying information to the public. The limited space for movement during pandemic has made social media the main space in communicating Government policies.

She assessed that effective public communication in social media can be seen not only from how community responds, but also being involved in supporting the implementation of government's programs and policies. Therefore, appropriate communication strategies are needed thus messages and information conveyed through social media can be understood and able to drive the public.
"In this award, not only provincial government performance that is seen, but community participation and collaboration are also assessed. As collaborative city that seeks to realize city 4.0 concept, Jakarta Government is facilitating, while community is expected to participate and collaborate to support government's programs," she stated.
The content that won the Best Use of Image category was Tebet Station Revitalization and Station Sneak Peek. The other content that won the Best Use of Video category was Jakarta Government appreciated citizen's claims regarding air quality. In addition, Jakarta Government is also considered to be able to manage social media accounts well, thus it won the Best Account award.
Media Management Director of Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Nur Sadiq Gunarjo said that his side appreciated the performance of public communication on social media carried out by Regional Governments, Ministries, Institutions, and BUMNs. This award can be a trigger, benchmark, and accelerate governments in making changes to better public communication performance in accordance with the time.
"During the pandemic, social media managed by government has become the most trusted entity by public, in the midst of rampant disinformation or hoaxes. In accordance with Indonesian President's direction, government's policies must really reach the people, not just be disseminated. For this reason, government's social media channels must be managed properly and professionally, thus they have positive impacts on public," he explained.
Awrago CEO, Karina Kusumawardani conveyed, assessment was seen from engagement and how the public appreciates the material or content issued by government. Not only visually beautiful, but also information that public has been waiting for.
"Selected content is indeed the one that gets the most attention and public involvement. Timing for posting was right and public responded it well. Hopefully this award can be a trigger for government to continue to create interesting and useful content for the community," she mentioned.
For information, during evaluation process, analytical data is provided by NoLimit Indonesia, a data-based startup that monitors and analyzes online media. There were 249 participants whose analytical data was collected in GSMS 2021, namely 34 ministries, 50 institutions, 34 provincial governments, and 131 BUMNs.
Data collection period is September 1, 2020 - August 31, 2021. Data is selected based on the highest performance and engagement level.
