It also gets support from 1700 Pulau Imaji Foundation and Frankfurt Book Fair as the initiator of Jaktent since 2020.
Sarinah has long been part of the proud creative economy in Jakarta
The event that will fall on December 1-12 at Sarinah Building, Jalan MH Thamrin Jakarta will feature discussions, film screenings, exhibitions, charity auctions, and other exciting activities related to the work of the nation's children.
Realizing Jakarta as UNESCO City of Literature and Creative City
"Sarinah has long been part of the proud creative economy in Jakarta. We're very proud to be a part of this event to mark the history of a new face Sarinah which will be able to advance the creative economy in Jakarta and Indonesia in the future," said Disparekraf Head, Andhika Permata, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.
With theme "Spirit to Gather Again: Embracing Local Creative Movement", on December 2, there will be a Media Visit, Charity Fashion Show "From Jakarta for Nggela" and Manusia Harum Pre-launch (From Jakarta to Paris Fashion Week), which is a fashion collaboration collection of Kami Latu x Batin, Adraworld (fashion designer) and HMNS (Indonesian perfume brand), which is followed by a Press Conference by some speakers, namely Gianita Kadarisman (Executive Director of 17000 Pulau Imaji Foundation), Claudia Kaiser (Vice President of Frankfurt Book Fair), Fetty Kwartati (CEO & Retail Director of PT Sarinah), Handayani (Director of Consumer Business PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk), Erick Thohir (Minister of BUMN), Andhika Permata (Head of Disparekraf), Ricky Pesik (JCCF Supervisory Board), Fiki Satari (Chairman of ICCN), Leonard Theosabrata (Director of SMESCO), Dr. Matthias Müller (Head of Press and Culture Division for German Embassy).
The charity event for Nggela and the Pre-launch of Manusia Harum with theme "From Jakarta to Nggela and from Jakarta towards Paris Fashion Week as Road to Sarinah is an implementation of the spirit of "Embracing Local Creative Movement". Nggela means a traditional village in Flores, NTT which in 2018 experienced a fire. It will also display a fashion show and a fashion auction, for Kami Latu x Batin collection which was made from woven fabrics made by women in Nggela village, is aimed at providing support for construction of burned traditional houses and economic development of Nggela community.
As for Manusia Harum (Ambarjanma), is Adraworld's collaboration with HMNS, an Indonesian perfume brand that was inspired by the confusion situation created by the many levels of fake news that are destructive. HMNS made a revolution in fragrances by creating the impossible scent by presenting two different scents in one package, which also need to be combined with the use of the two scents. Fashion creations by Adra and Manusia Harum will be present at Paris Fashion Week 2022.
"Hopefully, local creators and small and medium entrepreneurs can use this moment to be part of our community where the new face of Sarinah in the future is to become a Community Mall, which means that Sarinah's business in the future will depend on creativity and community involvement. So that the Sarinah will have facilities needed by the millennial generation to learn and become a co-working space," said PT Sarinah CEO & Retail Director, Fetty Kwartati.
"PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk strongly supports opportunities that can empower the creative economy of the community. This is the right event where we can encourage potential meetings for MSMEs to network nationally and internationally. Hopefully, it is capable of mobilizing creative communities," expressed Consumer Business PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk Director, Handayani.
"As the initiator, we are very proud to be able to collaborate with many parties, especially with PT Sarinah, PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk and Disparekraf in Sarinah Jakarta Content Week 2021. We hope, this Road to Sarinah moment will succeed in becoming a starting point for friends in the creative industry to showcase local content on a global level," stated 17000 Pulau Imaji Foundation Executive Director, Gianita Kadarisma.
