Jakarta Government Holds Jakarta Biennale 'Esok' to Support Creative Economy

Jakarta Government supports activities that encourage the growth and development of creative economy ecosystem in Jakarta by building collaborations with strategic partners in various activities, one of which is through organizing Jakarta Biennale event.

This event is a momentum to show the world that Jakarta continues to advance, as well as collaborating with various parties to advance. This is in line with Governor Regulation No. 84/2021 on Creative Economy Development and Governor's Instruction No. 53/2021 on Support for International Creative Economy Year 2021.
Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Agency Head, Andhika Permata mentioned that Jakarta Biennale 2021 could be an alternative tourist attraction for Jakartans, although it took place in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic.

He emphasized that Jakarta Biennale which was held during COVID-19 pandemic was implemented in strict health protocols. In addition, program
books and other publication materials will be launched digitally with QR Code for visitors to download. All guards and visitors are required to implement health protocols.Jakarta Biennale's Artistic Director, Dolorosa Sinaga said, Jakarta Biennale is a movement platform to invite many parties and communities in the creative economy ecosystem to respond and be actively involved in Jakarta Biennale 'ESOK' event which will be held from November 21, 2021 to January 21, 2022.
Various art works will be exhibited in public spaces, such as National Museum and National Awakening Museum. Then, art installations will be installed at various points in the capital, namely Menteng Park, Cikini, Thamrin-Sudirman, and MRT stations. Jakarta Biennale 2021 is participated by more than 40 artists from 20 countries.
