Jakarta Disaster Response Collaborative Task Force Helps Moving Semeru Eruption Survivors to New Evacuation Post

Jakarta Disaster Response Collaborative Task Force relocated 408 evacuees from the initial evacuation post to the new post.

Facilities in new evacuation post are expected to make evacuees feel safer and more comfortable

Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Acting Head, Sabdo Kurnianto mentioned, hundreds evacuees were relocated to three new locations. In detail, evacuees from KPRI Dwija Raharja Command Post were transferred to Candipuro State High School, evacuees from Candipuro Sub-district Office were transferred to Candipuro 1 Junior High School, and evacuees from Jarit Village Office were transferred to Jarit One Roof Public Junior High School, Candipuro.

"Based on data, there are hundreds evacuees, including two babies, 12 toddlers, 76 children, 259 adults, two pregnant women, and 57 elderly people," he said, Friday (12/10).

Jakarta Team Continues to Boost Semeru Recovery Efforts

According to him, relocation was carried out to help evacuees to get more adequate facilities in new evacuation post.

"Facilities in new evacuation post are expected to make evacuees feel safer and more comfortable," he added.

In addition to relocating, Jakarta Disaster Response Collaborative Task Force also helped evacuees to transport goods or household furniture to evacuation sites.

"We also help to meet logistical needs for Semeru eruption survivors in evacuation sites," he conveyed.

Meanwhile, one Semeru eruption survivors from Sumberwuluh Tengah Village, Suwanto (50) stated that in very limited condition, his family and other residents took refuge in KPRI Dwija Raharja.

"It was uncomfortable in the old post, especially when I was with my family. Thank God, tehre was quick action by Task Force from DKI that provided buses to move us and our luggage to the new evacuation post," he said.
