Bamus Betawi General Chairman, Haji Lulung Passed Away

Innalillahi wa innailaihi rajiun, Betawi Community Consultative Body (Bamus) General Chairman, Abraham Lunggana or familiarly called Haji Lulung passed away after being treated at Harapan Kita Hospital.

My deepest condolences for the passing of Haji Lulung

Bamus Betawi Deputy Chairman I, Muhammad Rifki or familiarly called Eki Pitung said, Haji Lulung passed away today at 10:50 at Harapan Kita Hospital after undergoing treatment for 12 days due to heart disease.

"As a person and Betawi people, I feel very lost to his figure. My deepest condolences for the passing of Haji Lulung, the leader, my role model, and brother," he said when contacted by Beritajakarta.id, Tuesday (12/14).

Culture Agency Collaborates with Bamus Betawi to Develop Betawi Culture

He assessed that Haji Lulung's struggle for Betawi existence and development was unquestionable. He gave his thoughts, energy, and materials to advance Betawi culture, arts, and society.

"He taught us to be a good and professional leader of our own land. Put yourself as partner of government and don't be arrogant," he conveyed.

According to him, Haji Lulung left message to continue the relay of struggle to maintain dignity of Betawi and continue to regenerate.

"He has very good leadership, nurturing, and very wise. He never complained about his heart disease, only about a year ago, he told me,"

He mentioned that his funeral time and location will be further informed.

"I'm still on my way to hospital. I'll let you know later," he added.

For information, Haji Lulung was born on July 24, 1959. Apart from being Bamus Betawi General Chairman, he was known as politician, member of Jakarta Council (DPRD), then later became member of DPR RI.
