The Best JPO in Jakarta will Soon Be Opened to Public

The second phase of Karet Sudirman Pedestrian Bridge (JPO) Revitalization work has reached 98 percent. Currently, its progress has entered the finalization stage, including repairing bridge railings, conwood bridge floors, and installing RGB lights and load sensor.

Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Head, Hari Nugroho believed that JPO which built with phinisi ship concept will be the best JPO in Jakarta. Apart from being disabled-friendly pedestrian bridge, this JPO is also cyclist-friendly since it can be crossed by bicycles.

"It has touched 98 percent, two other percent are just finishing. It is equipped with extra large platform and lift, JPO with phinisi ship concept will be iconic and viral. You can say that it is the best JPO in Jakarta because it is the only JPO that can be crossed by bicycles," he stated, Monday (12/20).

This JPO is also equipped with load sensor which one time can beep if visitors exceed the capacity. Load sensor is installed to ensure safety and comfort of visitors who want to enjoy the atmosphere of this Phinisi JPO.

"At JPO platform, the sensor will beep if there are more than 50 people. When it sounds, go down first. This is for the safety of visitors and other JPO users," he mentioned.

He assessed that JPO with Phinisi Ship concept was one of the best ways to remind Jakartans of the history of Jakarta. In its history, Sunda Kelapa Harbor in northern Jakarta was the forerunner of Jakarta city.
