KBT Area is Completely Closed on New Year's Eve

The East Jakarta administration has put in place to limit the mobility of vehicles and pedestrians in East Flood Canal (KBT) area. It aims to support the implementation of a crowd free night (CFN) in the area.

We have around 120 joint personnel who are ready to secure KBT area

East Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Budi Novian expressed, CFN in KBT was applied to prevent crowd and a spike in Covid-19 transmissions in the upcoming New Year’s celebrations, which falls on Saturday (12/31).

"We have around 120 joint personnel who are ready to secure KBT area. They will be on standby at 4 PM," he said, Monday (12/27).

He explained, six locations were the main targets of the guard. They were namely KBT, Jatinegara Fish Market, Jembatan Item Flea Market, Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo, Jalan Raya Bogor, and Jalan KRT Radjiman areas.

"Each market only operate until 10 PM, except in KBT area where it is completely closed," he furthered.

According to him, there would be 25 joint personnel spread out in five locations of concern. They were assigned to control street vendors (PKL) who ignore the rules. Even, he had coordinated with local sub-district heads to make an announcement to them about limiting operational time until 10 PM.
